The Culkin Adults are fortunate to have had
the opportunity to create and perform a number of original choreographies.
Below are those pieces currently in our repertoire.
The Drums of Belfast made its full debut as part of the Damhsa:Rhythym & Grace, the 2007 spring showcase by the Culkin School. Follow the link above to watch the dance on YouTube.
Generations also made its debut at the 2007 showcase, Damhsa: Rhythm & Grace and features a multi-genrational cast of Culkin Adults and their children.
Generations
Rince made its debut as part of the National Tap Dance Day performance in Washington, DC on May 18, 2002. It is the first hardshoe choreography put together by the Culkin Adult Irish Dancers
Toss the Feathers made its debut as part of the City of Fairfax Spotlight on the Arts "Irish Stepdance
Spectacular" April 21, 2001 and has also performed at the Baltimore Irish Festival, the Potomac Celtic Festival and at WolfTrap.
Dancing in the Wind made its debut as part of the City of Fairfax Spotlight on the Arts "Irish Stepdance
Spectacular" April 29, 2000. Since then, Dancing in the Wind has performed numerous times. Culkin adults competed with this choreography at the 2000 Southern Region Oireachtas in Memphis, Tennessee.
The Flood made its debut at the CCE Irish Festival in September 2004. The story
behind the dance tells it all -- 12 dancers lost their car during a flood at
rehearsal over the summer. The Flood is the first choreography by
assistant instructor Megan H and features both hard and soft shoe.
